Discover Historic Annapolis

Welcome to Capital City Colonials, Annapolis' premiere historic, colonial, and culinary tour company that highlights the history, architecture, culture, and local cuisine throughout the area.

Our mission is to show the sights, sounds and flavors Annapolis has to offer.

We currently run the following tours:

Our colonial-clad characters are poised to guide you through history. While on your feet or in a seat, Capital City Colonials can entertain you on your visit to Annapolis. Whether you are traveling solo, in a group of family or friends, we have choices that promise to be ideal for your needs.

Public Tours

Our public tours exercise both the mind and the body. Walk the Annapolis historic district with our Historic District 101 Tour. Your guide will enchant and escort you through 18th century Annapolis by taking you to a colonial kitchen, the Waterfront Warehouse, St. Anne's church and the Maryland State House when available.

The Annapolis Food & History Tour features a variety of food combined with history, architecture, and culture. You will get to digest delicious food as well as a bit of Annapolis' rich history. Enough food is served to cover you for lunch; and enough walking is provided to cover the food.

GROUP TOURS can be arranged for any of our public tour offerings. Additionally, consider these specialty tour offerings. Women's groups often enjoy our Women of the 18th Century tour that focuses specifically on the daily lives of women of all social classes.

Church groups should consider a walk or performance from our Vicar's Tour as he preaches about worship in the Maryland colony.

Military history buffs like to walk with the uniformed aide-de-camp to General George Washington as he traces the path of Washington's Resignation. Tour the Grand Houses of Annapolis, stopping for lunch with your colonial guide mid-tour.

Design a group tour to meet your specific needs from suggestions on our Custom Tours page or consider one of the UN-TOURS described below.

UN-TOURS offer both passive and active choices. On a visit to the home of 18th century printer Jonas Green, his descendent and current resident will be your host and guide (he is also a USNA grad).

The Sands House had its last real estate transaction in 1771. Current resident, local author and great-great-great-great-great granddaughter of the Sands will show you what relics her ancestors left behind. Enjoy Colonial Gossip in air-conditioned comfort.

Sit, watch, and listen to social interactions of our colonial characters performances; then ask questions if you like. Criss-Cross Annapolis is our team building scavenger hunt that can be customized for each group in content, difficulty, and duration.

One or more of our colonials can attend (and work) your next party or function.

Visit our Rent-a-Colonial page. We have centuries of experience.

Whether you're coming to Annapolis to see the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) or to sail the Chesapeake Bay, no visit is complete without enjoying one of our tours.
